You want to choose an experienced agent who is there for you.  It is important that you have a connection and feel comfortable with your agent.  Your agent should be actively finding you a home and keeping your informed and up to date of the entire process. 

It is a good idea to choose an agent that represents you and not the seller.  This is profitable during the negotiation process.  In working with a buyer's agent, he or she is required to keep your information confidential.  Plus, he or she is concentrating on getting you the best price.

The  buyer's agent can also represent you and assist you in purchasing a FSBO listing.  As long as the seller is willing to work with you and your agent; the process can go very smoothly.
